| Local Activities, Sights & Events of Interest to Visitors | Located at the east end of the County of Beaver, the Town of Viking is approximately 140 km south-east of Edmonton on Highway 14 at the intersection of Highway 36.
- Viking is serviced by both Greyhound and Via Rail passenger services. - The local airstrip provides small craft access, and the Edmonton International Airport is only a 1 3/4 hour drive away. Carved by Cree Indians and arranged in a rib pattern, the rocks are thought to have been used in fertility rites for the buffalo. Free. 10 km (6.25 mi) east of Hwy 14 and 3.5 km (2 mi) south. Viking Historical Museum on Main St contains pioneer theme rooms. May 16 to Sept 7, daily 10 am - 6 pm, by donation, 336-3066.
