| Local Activities, Sights & Events of Interest to Visitors | CYEG is Canada's fifth busiest international airport
The principal focus of Edmonton International Airport is scheduled, commercial passenger and cargo aviation. However, YEG also supports a great deal of general and corporate aviation activity. There are two fixed base operators providing aircraft handling and re-fueling services, as well as executive flight lounges. Additional ramp space, with a focus on cargo development, was completed during the fall of 2001 (Apron III), relieving congestion on Apron II. General and corporate aviation pilots can also take advantage of the many amenities located in the main terminal or close to Edmonton International Airport, such as hotels, car rental companies and tourist information. If you DO need to use "Edmonton International", the people at Flight Tech Aeroshell are friendly and helpful. They provide a complimentary shuttle to red tail landing (the golf course 5 min away) while your plane is refuelling. They also serve fresh cookies on the inside mmmmm.... |
