COGEMA Resources, a world leader in nuclear energy, is part of the AREVA Group, created with a merger of COGEMA S.A. and Framatome ANP as well as several other companies in 2001.

The official end of mining and milling at the end of 2002 meant 2003 was a quiet year at Cluff Lake. At a site that once accommodated 200 people, only 22 AREVA staff and 10 contractors remain. Some general clean up activities consistent with the existing licence were completed in 2003.
