...tons of stuff to see and do in this city!

History: This airport was orginally built by the Ottawa Flying Club in the 1920s. Later on it became RCAF Station Uplands and in WWII served as a BCATP base and home to No. 2 Service Flying Training School flying Harvards, part of No. 3 Training Command, RCAF, headquartered in Montreal.

As a SFTS location it had a satellite airfield where the Harvards of No. 2 SFTS could go and do circuits and also find shelter if they could not return to RCAF Uplands due to weather or mechanical problems. This field was RCAF Station Carp, still a very active GA airport with a page found at http://www.copanational.org/PlacesToFly/airport_view.php?pr_id=1&ap_id=138
