CARP AIRPORT NEWS West Capital Developments now have their new terminal and FBO building at Carp and their self-serve fueling system all operational. Aircraft flown by 2SFTS included the Harvard and Yale. Carp was used as a place to do circuits and a safe place to land if Uplands was blocked by storms or poor weather. The field was also used by aircraft of the No. 3 Flying Instructor School and No. 1 Flight Engineer School at nearby Arnprior between August 3 1942 and Jan 28 1944. The aircraft flown by these schools included the Avro Anson, Fleet-built Fairchild Cornell, Fleet Finch, Cessna Crane, Fleet Fawn, NA Harvard, Boeing Stearman and DHC82C Tiger Moth. |
